It's not all that surprising to see Bayern losing. Their competitive edge will have been dulled slightly by their Bundesliga dominance for one thing. The other is Guardiola's away record in the knockout stages. Despite his reputation for high pressing, dominance of possession and attacking football, he sets his sides up to dominate possession but not lose in away legs, banking on his side going all-out or doing enough at home to get through instead. He is much more pragmatic than he's reputed to be.
