Rafa on Football Focus

Lads, while Rafa is out of work he is going to appear on plenty of TV sofas discussing football in general. If the so called "anti-Rafa" lads are going to get upset and drag up shite from years ago about the likes of Alonso each time he does, then you are in for a long period of getting upset. YOu really need to move on.

However, he won't be out of work for long. One bad season with us, and that whole weird 6 month thing with Inter will be weighed up by lots of clubs and when they look at the success and ability at Valencia and us baring his last season then he'll be picking and chosing where he wants to go next. When he looks at the title race from 2 seasons ago on much reduced backing, and the two European Cup Finals then I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Abramovitch went for Rafa.

Fans don't hate him, fans turned against him because he won nothing here for 4 years, alienated players, board members, coaching staff along the way, bought poor players, unsettled/sold good ones, demanded more money on tap whether available or not, secured himself a contract we couldn't afford to pay him, and finished out of the Top 4 in his first and last league season. He turned against his old board at Valencia, and his last board at Inter, turning them from Kings of Europe to 9th place in the league within months. That's why for all his talents and achievements, he's not universally admired by everyone. If he got on with doing his job, he could have become one of the most successful and sought-after coaches in world football as others are, instead of taking up sofa space on British football shows now.

And you claim not to be deliberately incendiary or contrary.

You want to attend a decent self awareness course, mypost.

How DARE he appear alongside sages of sporting enlightenment like Mark Lawrenson and Garth Crooks! I'm holding a lighter to my Road To Istanbul DVD already! GRRRRR!

You thought Hodgson could do a job at Anfield. Your opinion on football matters is worthless.
