I hope so as a solid player who can slot in either side is a huge luxury.

Agree, but Flanagan looked anything but solid in his few appearances last year. Regular playing time will hopefully put him back to where he was physically. He would have been slaughtered on the counter if he took up the atacking positions Moreno does though.

Stan Staunton was ace, but the was when I was at an age that any Liverpool player was ace in my eyes and I was gutted we didn't get candy when my mum and dad bought a new washing machine.

Good point, I more or less forgot about Stan. He was promising to decent in his first spell here, and pretty much past it in his second.

He didn't have much pace to start with, and he lost it early. Cultured footballer though, with a more than decent left foot.

The closest he came to ace was his Villa years, and I'd say he didn't really reach full aceness there either.

I see you got the seal of approval for that post - A genuine Code neg.

Joe Gomez?

He was solid at left back last season before he got injured.  Surely he'd be a better back-up (or first choice) than anyone else we've got.

Gomez is a malingering gobshite, more interested in his Instagram than making it here.

I can't wait until he's finally fucked off.

Just like Moreno then.
