It's been a long time coming. About six months in fact. Not since the demolition of Hull in September have we seen the reds take a team apart the way they did last night. The football was good, we scored four goals and but for the woodwork we'd have matched the scoreline from the Hull game. Granted, it was only Portsmouth, but fairs fair we played well in this game and it was good to see.

I agree with the MOTM. Considering the way he has been treated Aqualini's performance and attitude were spot on. A major point mentioned was that of Torres looking happier with the support he had. In fact Gerrard relished in it as well. We played as a team last night and the link between midfield and attack was apparent for all to see. We've been lacking that for most of the season and it just goes to show that attack is the best defence. Why be cautious when you have two of the best players in the World ? let the opposition worry about our strengths instead of stifling them and handing the baton over so to speak.

Good read that. It`s been ages since we`ve had a real positive report, and even though Portsmouth was poor, they have been getting a few results lately, and we`ve stunk the place out against worse opponents.

It would also be fair to mention that beside 4 goals we were denied 2 stone wall penalties. In the 2nd minute when Torres shot hit an outstretched arm from Rocha, and when Glen Johnson was felled in the box. There were other close calls as well, that were more debatable, but those two were very clear.
