It was a heavy touch though to be fair.

His touch was not 'heavy' but deliberate i.e. moving the ball on a diagonal away from the goal, to draw the 'keeper and create the opening in the far post. This makes the 'keeper go very narrow as he thinks there is no space to score.

 

If he had gone straight it would have increased the possibility that Brad would have been out to smoother/close down his space i.e. spreading & making himself bigger, therefore making it harder for him to find a gap.

 

This is what is so amazing about this goal - none of the pundits gave him the credit he deserved for the way he took it - guess that what comes with a world class reputation.
