I agree, Ted. The obvious question then though is, how good is Silva ?

 

He's a different player to Riera.

 

He's quicker (not hard that, like) on the ground and in the head. He's deceptivley strong and technically gifted. He probably needs a move as he's getting to an age now where it could go a little stale and he might not take his game to the next level.

 

Having said that; staying at Valencia really hasn't done David Villa any harm...

We were in discussions at the start of the window before pulling out due to the price. Then we went mad and bought a defensively suspect right back for 18 million and an injured CM for 20 million who wasn't available for the first 4 months of the season.

 

And Valencia got new owners and told everyone. Villa, Silva. No sale.

You really beleive we spent £38m this summer?

 

As for Silva/Villa.. Valencia as we know are financially fucked, do you think they are going to take installment payments over 5 years or do you think they'll want the full transfer fee up front?
