Have you watched him regularly?

Well, a couple of games this season plus the weekly Bundesliga highlights. I'm just using the Pacheco example (well the Pacheco of last season at least), as he has exactly the same style of dribbling, always using that little drop of the shoulder and going exactly where the defenders hate it. But he does shield the ball much better then Dani although not really taller, and has a much more powerful shot in him, scored a great free-kick last Saturday.

I've been watching a fair bit of German football of late, and there are quite a few young talents emerging back there. If you get the opportunity to watch Hoffenheim, don't miss out on Carlos Eduardo and that Nigerian lad with about four name, Chinnedum Edu Obasi Ogbuke I think. There's also Dortmund's Hajnal, Schalke's Howedes and Bayern's Kroos.

The standard of football can be quite poor, certainly from a defensive perspective, so forward can look deceptively good, just look at our silky skilled voronin.

I can see the Pacheco comparison certainly in terms of their dribbling styles. I have seen him play on a couple of occasions this season, hence my asking for other opinions. Should be interesting to see how he develops throughout the rest of the season.

  • 2 years later...

He's had a really poor season, although so have Bremen. However, I watched them beat Dortmund 2-0 at the weekend, and he, and Bremen, were really good. Marin should have had at least a hat trick, though.

Wouldn't be disappointed if we signed him, but there are better players around, especially considering he'd cost a fair wedge.

I watch a fair bit of German football too and I think Marin would do a decent job for us. Plus he is quite young still at 22/23 so is not the finished article. His performances this season as mentioned in this thread have been not as good as past seasons but I think that is down to Bremen having a poor season.

I agree with Red House comments about Chinedu Obasi from Hoffenheim and I reckon he would also do a job for us. I think Carlos Eduardo moved to Rubin Kazan too but he would of been immense for us!

Is it Munain (or something like that) who plays for Bilbao?

I haven't seen him play, but heard very good stuff from a couple of the lads at footy (who watch Bilbao) last night about him.

Rumours that we are interested too.

Someone fire up a youtube clip of him. If he doesn't beat 6 people before scoring an overhead kick, he just simple isn't good enough.
