Three points, two goals and a clean sheet. Not a bad night's work for the Reds who overcame Wolves to move to the dizzy heights of sixth in the table thanks to a late flurry in the second half.

Chris Smith is joined by Paul Natton and TLW Editor Dave Usher to reflect on a decent evening at Anfield and to look ahead to a huge clash against United on Sunday.

Klopp commented after the game  "the way we have to play". Maybe they have decided that the low tempo at times allows the intensity bursts late in the game. We weren't finishing games in the past few months but last night was different. Wolves started well enough, probably confident from the result a few weeks ago but most of their chances came from us losing the ball coming out. We miss Thiago when we are trying to control the ball and pass it around at the back. United might look to go after us there but might leave them open.
Agree that if we score early, it is a different game, Wolves heads went. A lot of other teams will be the same, especially at Anfield.
Virgil was excellent last night and was my MOTM.
If he was bought in January and played the last 2 games as he did then we would be shouting from the rooftops. It is just that that's expected from him and it gets a meh. I don't think he will ever get back to 18-20 form but hopefully he is back to a very good level which is still above anything else in the league.

Excellent pod. The surprising reprise of Pele at the end made me spit my tea out. Too funny. Nice one lads.

I was on a packed bus heading into town to go to work and did one of those proper blurt out loud laughs, somewhere between a cough and a laugh.  My first genuine LOL moment in years.

Great pod again, I was in some old dears garden chasing my dog when Dave had his Pickford rant, my dog is pissing on her plants, she's looking out the window and I'm pissing myself at the runny nose comment.

Loving the Tierney hate, he's a proper cunt who had a shit game again. In saying that I think he got the big ones right, that Bacjetic foul is definitely something I'd want an opposition player booked for. With the caveat I was watching on a shitty stream it looked like we had 6 players ahead of the ball when Nunes broke past Bacjetic. Fabinho or Casemiro would have been able to make the same foul without being booked, Stefan will learn how to do that. The foul needs to be thigh to thigh or knee to knee, it can't be a clip of the foot.

On Fabinho it was definitely a yellow for Lemina but equally Fab seen it coming and tried to leave a bit of South American on him. Suarez would have accidentally landed on his face in a similar situation. No issue with Fabs yellow but it should have been our free.

Last one is the Jota foul, last replay showed it was a clear foul.

Surprised they didn't spend more time looking at Virgils original header, if they spent another few minutes they could have found an angle to find a hand ball.
