Real-life quidditch - which is based on the game featured in the Harry Potter books - is being renamed quadball by the sport's governing bodies to "distance themselves from the works" of author JK Rowling

Or more likely because the name quidditch is owned by Warner bros

They want to sell the game rights and can’t if it’s called quidditch as you point out.  However We’ve tried to be clear that it’s both reasons,” Jack McGovern, a spokesman for US Quidditch and Major League Quidditch, told the New York Times.

Not arsed myself like, sounds shite and these people need go grow up - on both counts. Fucking quidditch ffs. Still, they've taken the chance to put the boot in and lest we forget why, because she liked a tweet.

......

The leagues said the reasons included the name "quidditch" being trademarked by American film company Warner Bros. - which produced the Harry Potter movies - and because JK Rowling "has increasingly come under scrutiny for her anti-trans positions in recent years".

A woman made this joke on Twitter;

gyn: you’re married?

me: yes

gyn: what are you using for birth control?

me: lesbianism

gyn: oh, that’s very effective.

She’s since been cowed into making an apology as of course men can be lesbians too.
