How does Jonathan Tah compare to Van Dijk?

The main thing for me is Tah is slower. He's a big unit and should be fine in the air and he won't be muscled out of it. He's younger and will have a few more errors in him as he matures. He's a decent player, and could go on to be very good indeed, but he is not as fast as VVD and so could be done on pace if we play a high line.

 

Mind you, there's an art form to being a central defender, and you can be world class and slow, and not very good and fast.

Every time i hear that Tah get mentioned, i always think of that Rowan Atkinson sketch where he is the schoolmaster reading out the school register....
