Danny Ings

I like Ings and expect he'll do well but I'm not making any fucking predictions because last season I was convinced Balotelli would get 20 and Lambert 10-15 in all comps. Jesus wept.

If we went out and bought a top striker now I'd be pretty happy with our striking options though even though Sturridge seems crocked and Origi is unproven. Benteke is a good player and would probably do well here but fuck that noise. I'd genuinely rather we went out and bought someone we'd only end up selling in 3 years for 60 million than pay 32 for him.

All of our strikers would have done better if deployed as a pair.

But the boss thought different. Uttely fucking clueless.

I remember Tom Werner in that interview with the 5 Live gal, a couple of years back.

Every question he answered was prefaced with "I dont wanna" they need to sell and piss off out of it.

There's not an ounce of love left for the club from their end, its obvious.

Brendan will be in charge until the club is sold unless we're mired in the bottom half at Christmas.

Your talking like they actually gave a fuck about the club in the first place, they didn't even know anything about the sport when they bought us. The club was bought at the lowest point of it's value so they could get it up and running again to sell at a massive profit, it's a property development scheme on a much larger scale, thats all it is.

Paint a radiator here (don't sack Rodgers) put plaster over this wall to hide the damp (sack Pascoe and Marsh and promote Inglethorpe) they exist to do the minimum possible to keep revenues going up.

And the evidence for this is?

Owners who have not taken a penny out and invested a great deal. Some people will just make up stuff to support their own (usually negative) arguments.

Things didn't work out last season so let's criticise everyone and everything cus it makes us look clever. Most of us know very little about the owners and why they invested and what their objectives are, how we transact business, how we identify targets and pursue them, whether we are any good at it or not, if the Manager is underperforming or, actually, doing better than he might in the circumstances.

But, because we are disappointed with our league position, we will chuck shit at everyone involved like a spoilt kid having a tantrum. A bit of balance, please, a bit of perspective.

And grow up

I get puzzled by the level of hatred vented at FSG.

Maybe Im missing something- we do spend money, lots of it- not as much as some would like maybe.

They havent bankrupted us. They are fairly quiet- sometimes too quiet.

We're not forced to sell players, it wouldnt matter who owned us, Suarez wanted out and so does Sterling.

They arent perfect but Im not sure they are as bad as some people clearly feel they are

Players want out because the club has absolutely no sporting aspirations. That comes from FSG.

Look at our transfer targets/signings. Look at our chief exec, our manager, the rest of the committee, etc. Almost everyone at the club isn't qualified for their respective position.

"Invested a great deal"....please elaborate on what they've invested out of their own pocket.

They paid the debts off (200m) because otherwise they'd just be paying the interest off and that isn't prudent from a business sense. They bought the club for £300m, so that's £500m in total spent. The club is now valued at £645m without the new TV deal being put in place, it's value has increased £196m in one year, two years down the line we'll be worth £1 billion at least. So they stand to make £200m profit per year without spending a penny.

They only put back in what we generate, never their own funds. When the new TV deal comes into full effect you'll see them trying to hide behind FFP, saying they are trying to make us "self sustainable" so the books churn a profit every year, some fans might be happy with £50m going to transfers every summer but it'll pale in comparison to what we actually earn.

Their goal is to increase revenue which will ultimately increase the clubs value, so they can sell at the height of it's value pocketing hundreds of millions, maybe even billions in the process. Why else would a club that say they have aspirations of competing at the top level sign or try to sign the likes of Trippier, Bogdan and Ings... when comparable sized clubs sign Mandzukic, Griezmann, Tevez, Morata and pay them good wages?

The player purchase policy is shite but Balotelli was seen as a star of sorts when he was bought so who knows, could be another lined up. I don't like FSG as owners but they have moved the club light years ahead of where moores and parry left it, and there's a new stand on the way. They ain't perfect but they ain't ruining the club either.

In the last 2 weeks we`ve been treated to the spectacle of Tim Sherwood taking the piss by saying Benteke could do better than us, and the President of Lyon doing the same about links to Lacazette.

Tim fucking Sherwood laughing at us and not being ridiculed for doing it. Can you imagine the response if Sherwood had said similar about any of the top 4 clubs.

Danny Ings will work his socks off as much as Dirk Kuyt while also probably scoring more goals. He certainly has better ball control, pace and finishing than Dirk. I think he will become even more popular than Dirk because of that combination.
