Fuck all wrong with Abba. I saw Bjorn Again once and they were fantastic. 

 

I think Cast are one of the most underrated bands in this country. Closely followed by The Coral.

Why has liking Abba or Erasure got to be on an amnesty thread. Just because they're not 'cool' doesn't mean you should be embarrassed by it. Abba are quality, most of Erasure is too. I'm not gonna pretend to like the latest hip/cool musician/group because they have great lyrics that mean something if the tune is shit. I like music with a melody, the lyrics might be ridiculous but it's all about the tune. Doesn't matter who sings it. I hate musical snobbery

Abba and Erasure have no place on an amnesty thread.  But there will always need to be amnesty threads.  If we let everything go, people would be walking the street in curly mullets and shell suits and cargo shorts with 100 pockets humming Beady Eye songs.

I'm ambivalent to Erasure, but I hate Abba to the point that hearing them on a radio I can't escape will make me genuinely angry. I'm pretty easy going with musical taste, but Abba, tunes from musicals and Coldplay will get me swearing at the world like a drunken hobo.
