He's almost been as good as Messi and Ronaldo since 2012, almost.

Been better in a few patches, honestly.  There was about six months there when he was the best player in the world by a reasonable distance when Messi was struggling a bit by his standards.

Of course he'll never get anywhere near the Balon d'Or, too many people in football absolutely despise him, but if it were decided on pure football he'd have been in the final 3 the last 2 years for sure.

He was better than Messi last year. He carried that team. I doubt that had ww had Klopp he would have stayed be he would have been perfect for Klopp

We have different definitions of carrying a team so. Best player fir Barca at times, sure. Carrying the team, not for me.

Looked like he was trying to knock the ball out of the goalkeeper's hands in one of his trademark cheat moves but caught the head instead.

Spending Christmas back home in Uruguay, being reminded of his Grandad, would have provoked his diabolical intent.

An absolute disgrace that we ever allowed such a dirty footballer the privilege to represent our hallowed football club.

That's either ironic or completely ignorant of virtually everyone who played for us up until the mid-80s.
