Could be another example of the Aspas Paradox. Aspas has marked 23 goals across all comps since he went back to Spain Though I don't think Rodgers gave him a fair chance here his experience here might colour our look at other strikers coming from la Liga many of whom have been busts, too.

Nah, he doesn't weigh three stone. I think the "oh we can't buy Italians" type arguments are complete garbage to be honest. 

 

We've bought utter shite from everywhere. It doesn't mean those countries don't have good footballers and/or players that can't play in England, it means we're phenomenally shite at signing players and then managing them once signed (played out of position, not given much of a chance, etc, etc).
