Yep. i fucking love Carra. The guy is a fucking legend but he should not be exempt from criticism. By no means should any blame be laid at his fett, just like Johnson, Lucas, Poulsen etc etc Its a collective thing and as a team we are not functioning in any areas whatsoever.

 

I maintain that i believe under the rigth manager & system, Johnson will be a revelation. As much as Alves at Barca & maicon at Inter

 

Johnson needs to play with mobile and pacy centre halves, with a deep lying midfielder to drop back into space to cut off the runner and the diagonal ball while Johnson's recovering his position.

 

I do think Hodgson might play him RM in the derby.

Agree, although I think Meireles is boss and he is one of my current favourite players.

 

I'd add Skrtel to that list as well, but I know some people don't seem to rate him as highly as I do.

It looks good when you list the players but they have been beset with various problems for a long time. Out of form, out of fitness and lacking confidence, whilst the ownership saga and managerial changes play out with the media scrutinising everything.

Maicon and Alves have been mentioned but are they any better at defending than Johnson? Alves certainly isn't but he's allowed more freedom to gallop forward and link up at every opportunity!! Maxi is not gonna fill in for Johnson the same way as Kuyt does so play him farther forward like LFD says and play Kelly at RB gotta be worth a go least the two could overlap with the confidence they've got a defence minded player who can cover?
