I remember when it first got into the charts in 1993 and Bruno Brookes played the album version by mistake. It was funny as fuck...you, I won't do what ya tell me!

I remember that, on the chart show on a sunday afto. It was fucking brilliant. Didn't he sod off outside for a fag or something and just leave it playing?

Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites

You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites

Saw them live at Glastonbury in 1994 and they were fucking great. Like a mixed race Public Enemy with guitars: angry, funky and political in equal measure. That song is ace.

This is the same Rage Against The Machine who are signed to Sony/Epic, right? The same Sony who will sign the eventual X-Factor winner...

Fight the power guys!

Better for the public to actually pick the christmas number one rather than Cowell...oh hang on..

Yeah, the same RATM that use their fame to publicise, and their money to support, people who are actually fighting the power.

If a few people google Oaxaca because of them then I'd say they're winning the fight. Communicating to millions of people across the globe might not be much but I think it will help Zach in his hopes to make some real impact when he gets elected on to the local council. Bin schedules are the end game I reckon.

I doubt I'll buy it though; it'd give people them the impression I cared about the singles chart.

Actually, I think I've gone and barked at SD for a different point to the one he was actually making; which was dumb. Looking again he's not saying "fight the power guys" to RATM but to people who will give Sony a few quid for buying the song, which is a pretty fair point.

I think its a stupid point.

Not really. The point is that your money still goes to the record company whichever of them goes to number one.

The idea of voting with your wallet for RATM over the trash that X-factor will churn out because of the comparative quality, and it beng nothing to do with money, is also a fair point.
