I have diligently read all the anti-Parry rant's on this and other sites, and while I agree things could have been done differently i.e informing the fans immediately after the Chelsea game that 1 away game credit would be needed along with 6 home games. It would saved fans (like myself) rushing out and booking flights.

Nevertheless protests and insulting banners are not the way to remedy this situation, they demean the Club and the Fans.

We are the best supporters in the world bar none, we will prove it again in Athens, as a previous poster has already said the atmosphere at yesterdays game was soured by the protests inside and outside the ground. It should have been a celebration of the forthcoming CL Final, and the last game played at Anfield in Liverpool red by one of best players ever to wear the shirt, unfortunately this was'nt the case.

Those with slightly longer memories will recall that whenever we reached cup-finals in the past, ticket allocation was always a problem, and it always will be with a support base like ours.

One last observation, I find it difficult to reconcile the passion and love that some fans profess to have for the club, whilst at the same time denigrating the club and its traditions with these unsavoury outbursts, dont forget when the new stadium comes on stream with its 60-70-80 thousand seats, try getting a cup-final then.

All the more reason to kick up a fuss now so that when we move we don't find the club has pledged 15,000 final tickets to sponsors and the corporate market.

How many finals has this club been in where the allocation of tickets was minimal, how many times leading up to a final have we moaned and complained about said allocation, how many times have we forgotten about it once the game is over with and done nothing until the next final comes around when the whole thing starts again.

Now this is a good point and the reason that despite protests virtually every season about FA Cup final ticket allocations, for example, the FA continue to distribute them the same way every year.

Finals by definition take place at the end of the season and there are usually very few games between people finding out if they've got tickets and the match itself. Fans don't want to protest during the last few games of a season - the points at stake are often vital and they want to get behind the team. They're never going to protest at the final itself for the same reasons. Then there's either a three month break or an international tournament, new signings and backroom changes. By the time the new season starts any impetus has been lost and any protests would seem less relevant in the face of a new league campaign and the need to get behind the team.
