I canvassed the opinion of some of the footballing Twitterati yesterday. Jim Campbell from the football ramble was a pro-beans man (despite having some controversial thoughts on eggs) whilst, disappointingly, Iain Macintosh was a no beaner. He also brought some Spanish blogger called Barca Jim into the deabte, who seemed to be some sort of leader of a no beans cult; the fucking lunatic.

Don't be a name dropping luvvie. It makes you sound a bit desperate.

Michael Caine told me that.

Lucas is to try beans on a fry this week and will report back. This adds significant weight to either side of the argument.

This is huge, I've always said I can take or leave beans on a fry up but always put myself in the pro bean side of things.

Lucas is going to change that for me one way or the other.

Was Fowler's testimony not enough?

He hadn't tried it! He actually left the door open to a pro bean stance.

"doesn't sound the best" pretty clever response that, I wouldn't expect any less from Robbie.

Lucas addresses the burning issues on a twitter Q&A.

Blood Red: Liverpool FC’s Lucas Leiva turns down proposal - Liverpool FC News - Liverpool FC - Liverpool Echo

Asked if he has beans on his fry-up, Lucas replied: “I never tried beans but I already have omelettes so I think it is good progress. I will try beans this week and report it.”

Edit - Damn! Xherdan beat me to it. Who is going to own up to asking him the question? There's rep in the fridge for you.

Beans on a fry is a bit like tromboning. You think, nah, that's not for me, then you try it's and become hooked.

That's what Robbie Fowler meant.

There's nowt wrong with beans on a fry up. If you want them.

Sometimes I do. Sometimes I prefer without.

Democracy, free world, individual preference, depends on the day, comme si comme ca and all that...

And, for something that tastes very nice, they are also exceptionally good for you.

Apologies for that sounding like an advertisement.

Indeed they are, the wind thing can be an issue but hey ho, you fart you fart.

They work well with eggs and bread and those things are on a fry up, so they work. Simple.
