Yeah it does. Plus Paul's got dodgy wifi, John B's laptop overheats and sounds like a lawnmower and John G has an echo any time he's on. Monty's audio isn't great either, but on the plus side that makes it difficult to hear what he's saying.

I love it when you can hear you guys opening a beer after a satisfying win.

Bugs me when they get a notification on their phone or laptop and I think it’s mine.
I normally blame Monty even when he’s not on.

One point I’d make about the Jota pen (and the Diaz one) and slightly disagree with you guys on is that Jota did know what he was doing.

Elite level strikers are making split second decisions all the time. He felt the contact, wanted to score himself but the ball was going away from goal on a soaking pitch with defenders chasing back.

I’m sure he’d have wanted to stay on his feet and score himself but he made the decision that is was better to go down for the pen than try to score after being impeded.

And I’ve no problem with him doing that. Or Diaz.

Also, Neville can go fuck himself the cunt son of a nonce.

Someone’s got to take one for the team now Hermes isn’t about.

I’m all on board.

That’s the default approach on the group chat: if in doubt, blame Monty. Even if you’re factually wrong, you’re morally right.

Dave’s mask slipping about being an elite footballer. The Trent effort from the byline was definitely a ‘shot’ on goal. Only a handful of players have that in their locker and he is definitely one of them. Reminds me of Bergkamp’s goal against Newcastle and folk saying he never meant it.

Maybe you’ve watched it back?

Great stuff lads. One more piece of amateur hour though, as was pointed out on the pod last week, the league table last season was a month behind due to the world cup. City are 5 points worse off than this time last season. They have lost the control they had for years, it used to be 1 nil after 4 minutes and that was game over. They are going behind and giving up leads like they haven't done before, losing Gundogan and Mahrez is a huge loss. The team now is only 3 or 4 world class players plus a load of good ones and the world class ones have a look of weariness about them.

I looked at this website too lately and their mid-season table from last year is incorrect. I think it may be the rescheduled games after the Queen's death being included in the fist half totals - just a guess.

City finished on 89 points last season and in their last 19 games, they won 15, drew 2 and lost 2 - 47 points, so had 42 points at halfway. They also drew v Brighton and lost to Brentford in their final two games, when the title was won and they were preparing for two finals.

After the World Cup, they dropped 10 points in their next 10 games but then won 12 in a row before the 1 point in the final two.

If they get 46 points in their next 17 games, we may still have a chance on the final day but it would be very slim IMO.

However, I agree with a lot on here, they aren't the same machine they were 2017-2023, have a smaller squad with the fringe players lacking the experience (and maybe quality) of former squads. Hopefully

Neil from The Anfield Wrap has also said recently that Curtis is his fifth automatic pick in the team at the moment. Allison, Virgil, Trent, Salah and Curtis. I think he's incredible, there was a moment last night when they tried to press him, even bumped into him, he just shrugged it off, wriggled away and made a simple pass. His touch in the conditions was so assured.

Is he fully over his growing problems or whatever it is/was that was keeping him out of training etc.? If not he can’t be relied upon. Agree though that he has been really good lately and should start if available.
