Guardiola did that stupid sarcastic 'Sorry, so sorry., really sorry' routine when reporters asked him about it. You can tell even the hacks were a bit embarrassed and/or irritated at his schoolboy-level sneering but it's high time they wrote about it instead of just moaning about it privately. The way he behaves is a disgrace. It's worse than Warnock, and the only reason it's not as big a 'thing' as Warnock's antics is purely down to the status he has.

Mourinho got away with it until he started losing games, then it was suddenly recognised as awful rather than 'colourful'. Guardiola will continue to get away with it so long as he keeps winning, but it's the jewel in the crown of the league's corruption. Everything about that club is taking the piss out of the authorities, the public and the game, and Guardiola's 'Oooh, I'm sooooooooo sorry!' boorishness is one big symbolic middle finger to everyone else.

A good post in full. Media all licking the hand that feeds them.

Pep showing a total lack of class, Tsimikas showing class.

One thing I though was noticeable yesterday was how poor our distribution from the back was. It was either misplaced, booted up in the air aimlessness or completely bypassed the midfield. All of them were guilty.

The fb's were noticeably deeper than usual which on paper seemed a a good idea but meant we totally lacked the service to the front players.

Guardiola did the same thing when that groundsman or whatever he was got decked during the pitch invasion last year.

What makes him extra levels of scum is he's supposed to be a proud catalonian, so more than most he should be in tune to what it's like when one part of a society is demonised and shat on, yet he sits idly by while his scumbag fans ruin minutes' silences and chant vile shit.

He's just a bought and paid for fucking child. One day, the history books will be rewritten and his achievements at City will be heavily asterisked.

I think the difference between us and the bigger spenders…is that it’s not that funds aren’t available - clearly a lot of money has been made available under Jurgen’s reign - we’ve brought in a lot of talent, as you rightly point out (when I use the word ‘talent’ it’s from the scouting perspective, which may or may not be spot on). No, its the simple fact that with us, its a case of here’s the funds and that’s it until next scheduled input - say, season to season. If we get it wrong, or we have players who on paper are the real deal, but in reality…using your examples above….are susceptible to injury, or hit and miss with form, then we’re fucking stuck with the situation long term, where as certain other clubs, just go out and double the spending.

We are w/o a doubt, strategically behind the eight ball with FSG in the driving seat. Probably won’t change.

I'd argue we are far too conservative in terms of our approach to the money side of things - I appreciate Klopp is loyal to players (arguably a bit too much maybe) and likes a smallish squad and we have been hamstrung by having players we have been unable to move on - but you have to IMO be 1. More ruthless and 2. Be less conservative with the money.

He was showing monk-like levels of restraint! Take my hat off to him for managing it.

I think Kostas was more baffled at his childish antics, and then Guardiola realises he's being a knobhead and so does that fake handshake with Arthur.

Any achievements at that club since 2008 are heavily asterisked already for anyone who gives a shit about Football.

I’ve said this before but Klopp no longer gives a fuck. He’s lined up for the German manager job and he’s treading water with us until it happens. It was an amazing, astonishing, unbelievable ride but it’s over. He knows it, the players know it, we all know it. Goodbye Jurgen, thanks.

Agreed.
