Had no idea he was known as Doc, or I'd have used it when mentioning him in any game he featured in that I covered in my old match threads. He served both the Reds and the Bloos with distinction, and played a great pass in the build-up to Terry Mac's famous header against Spurs. RIP Doc.

When I first came over to Liverpool to follow the Reds, two friends came with me. One of them was working in Shenanigans and was playing chess with a customer who came in regularly at lunch time. Said customer asked why friend was in Liverpool and friend explained why. Customer casually mentions he had played for Liverpool. It was David Johnson. Cool as eff. RIP.
