I wish I could be so diplomatic about it, anything to do with Bruce Springsteen sends me into a mild rage. His stuff is absolutely fucking brutal.

 

I remember one guy tried for weeks to get me into the 'early stuff' & it was just as bad, if not worse than the dross he was putting out in the 80s. Over earnest, boring shite.

I was on a music forum the other day & someone said one of his songs (Jungleland) had the best sax solo ever recorded so I thought in the interests of open mindedness I would have a listen to it...

 

I didn't make it as far as the saxophone solo, it was honestly one of the worst things I have ever heard. I think I might genuinely be allergic to Bruce Springsteen.

It's a shame Sprinsteen couldn't sing anything like him. Although Fogarty's voice has gone now as I saw him on youtube performing 'Who'll Stop the Rain' with his kids and it's miles off what it originally was.
