Whats your favourite war film ever?

I loved The Great Escape as a kid.

Schlinders List is a superb movie, but I'm not sure it's really a war film as such.

I like Saving Private Ryan, the D Day landings scene is one of the great pieces of cinema history.

But for me, Downfall is the best, my favourite foreign language film along with City Of God.

Even better than that though was Band Of Brothers. The scene in the Belgian forest in the midst of winter and the one where they are treated as heroes for liberating the town in Holland were brilliant, but the episode when they come across the concentration camp is one of the greatest hours of television I have ever seen.
