Not buying but a maintenance question.

Put our 2011  206 through its MOT and got an advisory about the clutch. Just had it serviced and clutch aside it's in decent shape. However they were clear the clutch is going to go imminently.

Any mechanics on here can let me know what I'm looking at price wise here?

Google says about £300-£500.

Well given that, you're bordering on 'Never pay more to fix a car than it's worth' territory.

Yes mate. I think you are right given your car. My car was fairly new at the time and had a value around the 2k mark at the time therefore was worth it for us.

My missus got hit head on a few weeks ago. Completely wrote off my trusty 207. Had that thing for five and a half years.

She wanted something with a bigger front end and she wanted us to change to an automatic. I just wanted something with a nice interior and the ability to play my Spotify tunes.

Ended up buying an old Merc C-Class Kompressor. Same as this…

mercedes-benz-c-class-1-8-c160-kompresso

… for £2.5k. It’s only done 57k even though it’s nearly 20 years old, and the interior is still good shit. With any luck I’ll clock up at least another 100k in it.

Proper old man car. Lovely bit of ‘oomph’ though, when you put your foot down, same as all automatics I suppose.
