I wouldn't say there is much between them and Williams is underrated but I wouldn't take him now, looking at how he performed the last two or three seasons compared to the cbs we signed I think he would have performed better here then they did.

How do you work that out? From my view, it seems like almost all of our defensive signings have looked better in another team.

 

Bertrand looked alright for Southampton last season, but then so did Lovren the one before, and Moreno when he won the EL. Given how highly rated those two were, and how far they regressed, if you apply the same reduction in form to Williams he'd have to be wheeled out onto the pitch.

 

If the argument is Rodgers has worked with him before, then Allen shouldn't be struggling to hold down a starting place when fit and Borini wouldn't be loaded into our loan cannon.

Allens problems have been down to injuries and not getting a proper chance in his natural position, he's been moved around since his second game here after Lucas got injured the first game of the season.

 

BR worked with Borini in the Chelsea youth team and on loan at Swansea for a couple of months, he saw the potential but when he got to the prem he showed he wasn't good enough for LFC.Every manager makes mistakes and getting rid of them early is a strength which I and a lot of others used to praise Rafa for.

 

Williams wouldn't have been worse then Lovren, his drop in form was spectacular and not many drop their level by as much as he did.Williams is used of the style BR likes to play and would have coped better then Lovren and Sakho imo, he also wasn't out with injuries nowhere near as much as Sakho.

I would guess that Rodgers will use can/ henderson /milner in combination as their fitness allows. As a benefit, the more injuries those 3 incur, the more places for all the #10s to be put in.

If Sakho and Lucas leave that's two more experienced players with leadership qualities out of the door and while I don't think either is a shoe in for a first team place it definitely weakens us.

How can you loan out a 28 year old? loans are for kids not established players. Rodgers has brought this upon himself when he decided to loan out Pepe Reina, why would anyone pay money for Borini or Mario when they know we'll just loan them out on the last day of the window for nothing? Probably subsidising his wages as well, it's a joke.

Losing Sakho is not something I am going to be losing too much sleep over. I think some lfc fans value him far to highly I think we would be better off with the money. We let as many games with him in the squad as we did with Lovren in the squad. Also other teams fans liked to cheer when he got the ball waiting for him to fuck up they don't do that with Lovren. Maybe his confidence is shot by this so he wants out, or maybe jermaine pennant needs to start following him on Twitter to offer him support and encouragement.
