Yeah, really, really wanted to be wrong about Balotelli, but...fuck me.

 

Virtually everything he does is just hopeful, he makes it up as he goes along and seems clueless as to where he should be, what he should be doing, etc; flying by the seat of his pants and trying novice in the park with his mates stuff that fails 9 times out of 10.  The comparison with what Suarez offered on that front is harsh on him, but in truth he falls short of basic competence let alone such timeless excellence. 

 

Obviously he's far from alone on this showing given we're being battered by the bottom club in the league, but some of the others actually have performed in the past.  I've seen nothing from him here or elsewhere to show that he can ever be a consistent professional footballer at the top level, as opposed to the equivalent of someone who often plays the best one off shot of the night at pool, but never wins a game.
