The Benny Hill Show. I never watched this really just turned on the TV in bed and it was on some shit channel, Blaze or something, while I was sorting myself out.

Apart being unbelievably shit I could not believe what I was watching. Basically soft porn. I remember as a kid my mum would switch over as soon as it appeared don't even think I was in my teens. I remember it being an illicit treat even if I caught 30 seconds of it but fuck me how did they get away with that, on prime time. No way would it be allowed now.

Swim suits smaller than I have ever seen and women with massive arses with cut off jeans right up the crack of there arse. Not quite disturbing but even now a bit shocking. So much so that by the 3rd episode I had to turn it off.

?/10

Sounds terrible. What channel was it on again?

One of those shit ones in between shopping channels. Very little shocks me but it really is incredible and not from a perv perspective. In all seriousness I know it was a different age and all that but it does make you think we have come a long way. After leaving school my 1st job was in an office by the Pier Head, very professional, and we had calendars up of of woman with their tits out.

Nice to see we now treat birds with the respect they deserve.

Finished watching the old Ken Burns documentary about Prohibition. He has made some absolutely amazing docs for PBS. Top drawer TV for history fans.

I’ve also seen his series on The Civil War, WW2, Vietnam, Muhammad Ali and one or two others.

His documentaries on Jazz, Baseball and The West are next on my list. I don’t even like jazz or baseball but I know they’ll be a fascinating watch, all the same.

Chapelwaite episode 4

I'm trudging through this with the hope of something more. Incredibly slow and morose but with a brooding creepiness which promises much.

Based upon Stephen King's Jerusalem Lot, Adrien Brody may be a fine deadpan comedic straight man but he cannot carry a drama imo.

This episode is make or break for me.

5/10 so far

Wasn't Adrien Brody the star of The Piano/Pianist film? Not much of a comedy that one I imagine.
