Everything is more or less settled now at the top and bottom, but the fight for the Champions League spots is going right down to the wire and you’ve got five teams fighting for three spots. It’s the only thing worth following between now and May, and while I have my own preferences for which three make it, given the fact I don’t like any of them I know I’ll be able to take satisfaction in the misery of the two who miss out. Chiesa’s agent must be living the high life like Scrooge McDuck. On a serious note, obviously that money wasn’t for the Chiesa deal so what’s going on here? There were no major contract renewals done in that period either, so I’m assuming it’s to do with spreading payments over the length of contracts or so

Alls well that ends well, and we’re just two wins away now. What an inexplicably weird performance that was though. It’s so hard to get a handle on this team right now. Last week at Fulham they threw in a stinker of a first half, but then upped their level after the break and could easily have got a draw out of it.
