For some reason I have never really wanted Brazil to win the major tournaments. Back in '98 which I was only 8 years old, I picked France out of hat and sort of stuck with them until the whole Spain/Liverpool thing. I also like the Dutch.

What about the whole Liverpool,England thing? I'll be made up if Gerrard and Carragher we able to get world cup winners medals, won't you?

The most intruiging thing for me is who will Del Bosque omit from this provisional squad when the final 23 is announced?

I reckon it'll be De Gea, Diego Lopez, Negredo, Navas, Martinez, either Guiza or Llorente and possibly Pedro who won't be on the plane to South Africa.

Don't be too surprised if you see Pedro make it, he looks like a brilliant player.

He should get the call up.

As for Navas he has that same depression illness that Marcus Trescothick has so I doubt if he will be able to cope at the World Cup. He's not a bad player but I think there are better players that can play on the right.

I doubt they'll play with wingers. Probably a left footer on the right (Mata or Silva), and a right footer on the left (Iniesta).

Navas is being criminally underated on here though. He's brilliant.

I certainly won't be surprised if Pedro is on the plane, he was the last of the 7 I thought had least chance of going.

Whomever gets omitted from the final 23 is going to be unlucky, but Del Bosque is going to have himself one hell of a headache when he finally does have to decide.

I’ll be supporting Italy as usual.

They cheat, dive, moan and play dull, unattractive football.

I heard on the John Peel show, the day after losing to Argentina in the semis at Italia 90 every radio station in Italy played tragic opera arias as an expression of national grief.

How can anyone not support a nation of music lovers?
