IOC rules that Transgender Athletes can take part in the Olympics

The IOC have just recently ruled that female to male transgender athletes can compete in the mens events without restriction and that male to female transgender athletes can compete as female athletes as long as they've been on hormone replacement therapy for a year. The added plot twist is that neither need to do gender reassignment surgery.

Is this just me or is that madness? A biological man, that's gone through puberty as a man, with the physical body of a man competing as a woman, that's surely a massive advantage isn't it?

It's not about being bigoted. It's not fair on female athletes having to compete against a biological man that hasn't had his balls removed. It's essentially a man on the pill, that's all it is. If he stops taking the tablets for a week or two his balls will produce testosterone again. Not to mention the physical frame of a man is just biologically built with more muscle than a female. It's an obvious advantage for any strength based or speed based event.

Not to mention that a woman has to take testosterone injections to become a man, but testosterone is a banned substance by the World Anti Doping Agency. So are they allowing women to juice to compete with the men? there's so many grey areas here, it's a joke.

Yes, I can imagine this having a huge impact, what with the thousands of world class transgender athletes just waiting for their opportunity.

Does anyone believe someone would go through a gender transformation to achieve success in athletics?

Isn't Olympic silver medalist and World Championship gold medalist Caster Semenya a hermaphrodite?
