The leather wasn't cheap looking in those days though. The leather Adidas (and other brands) use has gradually got worse over the years.

I like them. Nike have done some nice retro/modern hybrids, too. The modern soles are really comfortable.

Pretty decent them, on second pair of boost - last pair did probably 1000k before falling apart, good performance shoes that look the part.
