Full time, 2-0. Scrappy second half, but we never really got going, nor did we really look threatened by Bradford. Andy Firth only really had 1 save of note to make all game, and that came in the 3rd minute of stoppage time at the end of the 90.

Derby County at home is the prize for this evening's victory.

Match report from the offal. (Looks like the Norwich Twitter feed got Randall and Trickett-Smith confused).

Jack Dunn fired the equaliser as Liverpool U21s drew 1-1 with Norwich City in front of a crowd of 8,000 at Carrow Road on Wednesday night.

It was Michael Beale's side's first league fixture since a 2-1 win over Tottenham on October 31, and a spirited second-half display ensured they earned a share of the spoils.

Marc Pelosi played his first 90 minutes for some time as he gets back to full fitness.

Norwich fielded senior players Ryan Benett, Ignasi Miquel and Javier Garrido for the contest and Jamar Loza gave the hosts the lead with a fine solo effort.

However, Dunn, playing his first 90 minutes since returning from injury, grabbed the deserved equaliser after a goalmouth scramble.

Reflecting on the draw, Beale told Liverpoolfc.com: "Norwich were a very good side with several players in action who have played for the first team, and I was delighted with the way our players performed.

"It was a great atmosphere with over 8,000 supporters turning out which was fantastic and

we took a lot from the game.

"It was great to see Jack score because that was his first 90 minutes since April. He looked sharp and was a constant threat and hopefully he can push on for us now.

"It was also very pleasing to give Pelosi 90 minutes and he did very well, and I thought Kevin Stewart was excellent in a new midfield role in the absence of Jordan Rossiter who played for the youth team on Monday.

"Sheyi Ojo came on for the second half and was excellent as was Ryan Kent when he came on. We didn't want the final whistle at the end because we were pushing hard for the win."

Liverpool U21s: Ward, McLaughlin, Maguire (Kent 75), Cleary, Jones, Stewart, Pelosi, Trickett-Smith (Ojo 45), Dunn, Brannagan, Smith.

Having one of those days, where my brain just does not want to work at all, and as a result, I forgot all about the Under 18s game against Middlesbrough, this afternoon.

Currently 2-0 at half time. Goals from Canos & Wilson. Also, Ojo has had a penalty saved.

Fulton, Lewis, Travis, Brewitt, Whelan, Rossiter, Canos, Chirivella, Ojo, Ejaria, Wilson

Subs: Firth, Marsh, Phillips, Polgar

4-1. Canos picks the ball up around the halfway line and drives at the Boro' defence, before slipping a ball to Ojo to the right of the area. Ojo jinks in on his stronger left foot, and guides the ball into the far corner, beyond a stranded Boro' keeper.

Boro' finish the game with 10 men, after their best player is shown a straight red card for kicking out at Rossiter, after Jordan had won the ball back from him.

Final whistle is blown, 4-1. Goals from Canos, Wilson (x2) & Ojo.

I only caught the second half, but it was a convincing win against top of the table Middlesbrough..

No. Not for me. Not just yet.

Ojo and Sinclair are the 2 for me that could be in and around the first team by the time this season is through.

Totally agree, he's a bit like DTS in that he needs a bit of protection while he's so slight. Canos and Kent probably both closer to being ready for senior football as well.

Liverpool's Academy youngsters will host Derby County in the FA Youth Cup fourth round at Chester FC's Deva Stadium on Wednesday January 21 at 7pm GMT.

Neil Critchley's side beat Bradford City 2-0 in the third round to set up the tie with the Rams which has to be decided on the night.

The match is at the Deva Stadium because of the unavailability of the pitch at Langtree Park.
