Worst WrestleMania I can remember. Women's match was match of the night which sums it up. Ladder match was decent. The rest was shite. The booking was just awful.

The women can wrestle, get used to their matches being better.

Just bought myself a seat for the NXT show in June at the Echo. First wrestling since No Mercy came to Manchester in 99.

Went to NXT Takeover last Friday in Dallas. It was fantastic, the crowd were a bit smarky but some of the matches were top notch.

I've said this before but I love the gimmicks. Sgt Slaughter Vs The Ultimate Warrior sounds ace. Brian smith vs Steven Johnson doesn't.

That's it really.

 

It may have been like one big pantomime with Hogan and Earthquake, Brother love and the funeral parlour but it was great entertainment.

 

It's forgotten what made it a huge success- the use of normal names and less costume theatre as it were, only serve to make it less believable than it ever was and take the entertainment out of it.

I just had a quick look in this thread to see what sort of stuff goes on in it & I'm really glad I did now, this has got to be one of the funniest pictures I've ever seen. Bloke in the middle is Gregg Allman's fat twin brother & I don't even know where to start with the boy on the left, a bandana & an Adidas coat, white, stone washed jeans that Bon Jovi wouldn't be seen dead in & standing like he doesn't know whether to shit or piss. Poor cow had a cunt of a time after they terminated her contract "Chyna" is owned by  the company and so she was not allowed to use the name or costume to make a living. None of the wrestlers get any revenue for repeat shows, use of their image for merchandise etc. No pension plan, no post career medical treatment. No unions allowed. American business practices at their best.

I admit to only a passive following in wrestling these days but can anyone explain to me the logic behind wiping out years of building up Brock to be a monster, the beast incarnate etc by having Goldberg beat him in a few minutes after not wrestling for ages?

 

Presumably Goldberg isn't going to be returning to the roster week by week, like Lesnar.  If there was going to be someone who would defeat him you'd think they'd want it to be a guy they could push every week.  Maybe I'm out of touch.  Where's the repo man anyway?

I thought this on Goldberg as well so try and find out... 

 

Goldberg hadn't really trained for the match and when he did, got a shoulder injury. Instead of cancel, the decision was taken to make a 'squash' match where Goldberg catches Lesnar cold and finish him early. They are allegedly having a rematch at the Royal Rumble or WM.
