Yep, the sprite/fanta/coke yoyo's. Not to mention the bottle caps threaded onto your trainees. Fuck me.

You're obviously a deal younger than me, Melons, bless you.

Sprite wasn't even invented when I had my Coke yoyo.

We had the world yoyo Champions from the Philippines come to our primary school and give demonstrations.

Stupendously oversized tops

Eclipse branded stuff

Global Hypercolour t-shirts.

I've no idea how these even became popular - who wants to know where you get all hot and bothered in the pits/back/chest. Yes i had a few.

I'm 35. I remember someone coming out to give demonstrations, show off's.

I remember one school disco I wore red jeans and a black polo neck, turned out the school just wasn't ready for that kind of deal, the jeans were tucked in to my CAT boots. Used to have a couple of EDGE trackies aswell, they were money.

Forgot i had a pair of red jeans - got to love my mum's washing, they were a shade of pink within a couple of weeks.

My dear mother once bought me a pair of black shoes with red soles and an imprint of Kevin Keegan's face. This must have been around 74....cringe at that now.

As a teenager in the 70's. Pinstripe trousers with a 4 button waistband, plus they were flares. Looked like a porn star on a youth opportunity scheme. Burgundy stay press trousers with those rider boots or doc Martins.

Now you're talking Pb.

Possibly slightly earlier than you, I still shudder thinking about 3-star jumpers, penny round collar shirts, split-knee loon pants ( Green & Yellow were the worst I owned ) and platform shoes.

Thank christ The Jam dragged me kicking & screaming towards a modicum of fashion taste thereafter.

Oh I, i was born in 64...so i can still remember platform shoes and who could forget those dreaded bright yellow tank tops with three black stars on it etc...Bit like your 3 star jumper but with even less street cred. I am glad i was one of the only young lads in our town who refused all that tartan crap which came out because of the bay city rollers.

Lethal when used as a short range catapult at somebodies teeth.

I think every kid my age had one of those, I'd completely forgotten about them. Good invention actually, just a twist and you're ready to piss all over the toilet seat.

I had a pair of tracksuit bottoms with poppers down the legs, but they weren't adidas, they had 4 stripes. I think my mum got them from the market. I used to wear Reebok classics a lot until my mum bought me some weird white/grey/turquoise pony trainers.

I blame all that on my mum though...

Then when I started to buy my own clothes, I had a few of the "funny slogan" ones from topshop, like, Your mother loves you, everyone else thinks you're a tw*t". I had a pretty big K-Swiss obsession around that time too. Usually as white as I could get them, no colour on them, but then I fancied some with bits of brown on them. And to top it off, this was the time I started trying to ride a skateboard everywhere. Which usually meant I carried it around a lot, and only rode it on a long flat clear street.

That was all my fault

Jeans and T-shirts, usually music ones with Floyd or Genesis or whoever on the front along with a pair of army boots to keep my feetsies safe and dry on the bike.

Combine with one of these or a grey denim with the arms cut off.

Except mine didn't stand up by itself like that one. Well, not at first anyway...
