Madrid's situation is quite interesting; Mourinho really wants to sign Lukaku but the board are reluctant to fund the purchase, especially as they have Higuain, who is currently injured, but Mourinho isn't a big fan of. While the Madrid hierarchy really like Llorente. Be interesting to see who, if any, they end up buying.

He really is not.

My guess is that Mascherano will never cut it in Barcelona. When he played for us he was outstanding because he gave our offensive midfielders cover and the opportunity to attack more. Barcelona is all about passing and possession. His passing is not up to their level, and his not good enough on the ball either. They rarely loose the ball, and when they do they get it back within seconds, so they actually don't need his tackling very much either.

 

The only reason they would need him is if they choose to play slightly different when they meet the best teams in CL, and offer some of their passing to be more solid at that back. Very interessting to see if that will be the case!
