It's the rules that are wrong really, they're open to abuse currently since we can't expect silly things like sportsmanship to be upheld. It's not cheating though.

The line between bad sportsmanship and cheating is a blurred one.

Real Madrid are fucking cunts, that much is clear.

Don't the authorities have some sort of rule about sportsmanship, bringing the game into disrepute, that sort of thing... ? The bunch of prats should have the book thrown at them for such a blatant act of gamesmanship. Football hardly has any dignity left, and with cynical prats like Mourinho around it won't last long.

Thats what I think too. These days people just seem to laugh this sort of shit off like its a joke.

Thats the reason football is the way it is these days. Whatever you want to say about the reasoning for it, what Alonso and Ramos did was get themselves sent off on purpose. Whether its sportmanship or whatever it is wrong.

When did Beckham do this?

For England against Wales (I think). He was one yellow away from a suspension and Englands next two games were against a minnow and someone decent. I seem to remember if they won the two games they'd have qualified so he got a yellow on purpose so he'd miss the game against the minnow and then he'd be free to play in the game that meant they would qualify.
