fisrtly, thanks for helping me getting this newbie started and understanding how to burn my own dvds!

ive heard that verbatin & taiyo yuden are the best brand out there.......would you guys agree?

and does the dvd writer (already installed) in my pc have anything too do with it?

cheers

Verbatim are probably the best that I've used. I don't think they are necessary, though. Check out the branded ones on ebay. As long as you get something that is a recognisable name, you'll be fine.

Tayo Yuden's are the best. If you go for Verbatim make sure you get the ones made in Japan.

If the above are too expensive look for disc's with TYG03 dye. This is the same dye Tayo Yuden use. SVP did have some cheap silver topped DVD-R withTYG03 a while ago so have a look there.

Perhaps we should start by asking why you need to burn to DVD in the first place? Buying an external drive is going to be much cheaper in the long run than buying DVD's and it will also sort out your problem with DVD's "sticking" as you call it.
