That was a bewildering interview by Rafa. Basically accusing his captain of not having the temperament to handle the situation. Sounds like he's trying to bring someone down a notch or two.

Possibly, or it could be payback for not ducking out of England duty the other month despite having an injury, and as a result his form has been patchy since.

Think it's a case of letting him no who is in charge, and in no uncertain terms

Saying that though, it was Gerrards replacement who ultimately made the difference

I think he just had to choose between him or JC to bring off because they were, like he said, playing with their hearts and not with their heads, and Gerrard was the only one with any sort of replacement on the bench.

I also think going tit for-ta-tat with Gollum should be above him to be honest, it was a clear pen, not that I think Clatters did anything wrong!!

Unfair though, ultimately. Gerrard was brilliant in the main today. We wouldn't have got back into the game had it not been for the kind of driving run that we've been so missing from him in recent weeks. I don't think he made any poor decisions to warrant Rafa saying he wasn't using his brain, never mind the public nature of the criticism.

I feel really sorry for Lucas today. He had a little piece of history stolen from him by that ugly bastard today. Would have written himself into Derby folklore with that goal.

Excellent shout that
