It has everything to do with what people are talking about. Some people define themselves by their values and what they believe in, not the success of some blokes kicking a ball around.

Im not denying that, but all I mean is while people are up on their moral high-horse do they apply it to other parts of their lives?

Is there anything this lot haven't tried?

The Danish Pork Ribs in Jack Daniels BBQ sauce washed down with a copiuos and gluttonously obscene amount of FAXE strong beer.

Or a Strontinium Dog bacon butty.

Or even perhaps, when in Paris, a little horsemeat. Throughbred won't run- eat it. The Inuit did that with sled dogs, though usually only in starvation times.

And for you Norgies, Amundsen did it as well- the dogs got him the Pole and they were on the menu on the way back.

I have no idea; I don't see that it makes the comments any less valid though?

But, as I said on my other, splendid thread, what investment would have been acceptable to people? There is always an element of shadiness to money as far as I can see. Its more of an investment or no investment thing. If you are pro-investment, this lot aren't that bad.

If Parry could have found a Lacoste bag with 450 million in it in the bushes, with a note stating that it was stolen from an evil manc despot, and that it was to be used by any scouser in any way they saw fit, then that would be better than what we have now.

Wenger shits it.

Arsenal boss Wenger admits Liverpool takeover concerns

December 05, 2006

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted concerns over Sheikh Mohammed's £450million takeover of Liverpool.

Last year he called Chelseas domination of the transfer market with Roman Abramovich's billions as "financial doping."

Last night, he said: "Of course I'm concerned about the Liverpool takeover.

"I've given my opinion on that many times before and I do not change my mind."

Only porn can be found in bushes, never bags of cash. The porn pixies have the monopoly.

We're officially against the idea then I take it?

Would the dissenting voices count as knee jerkers, do we not apply the same principles to a new owner as we do a new player or are they afforded no time pre or post sale to tell us/show us what they plan to do?

The only information we have on the deal is Parry telling us the wait was because they were searching for a buyer with the same values as us. The Sheik saying they are looking to invest on and off the pitch and the possibility of both Moores and Parry staying on at the club.

Beyond that we know very little, but they're making all the right noises so far.

Exactly, only give contracts to their mates at Carlyle and that sort of thing.

Well, I wouldnt say that they are worse than Tony Blair.

We've all profited from war. A good old war means nice low interest rates.

I fucking love war.

Some people have problems because its not a reds fan who sint buying us out.

Taken from yesterdays echo

'The man most closely connected with the bid to buy Liverpool is Sameer Al Ansari, a Reds fanatic who is also Chief Executive Officer of Dubai International Capital.'

So it appears that it 'is' a red who is involved in the investment.

One thing I would like to ask is, how far down the road are we to actually completing a deal.

I have read the line - exclusive rights to study the club’s books and complete a deal - how often do deals that reach this stage fall apart, or is it pretty much nailed on.

Just wondering as I do not have any real knowledge in this sort of thing.

I read somewhere that a formal bid would be made at the start of the new year. Due dilligence (sp) etc always takes it's time so I guess that's why it's not formalized yet.

Yeah I heard it might be after or even before Christmas. My main question is not when but if. What I mean is when it gets to this stage - due dilligence - is it more likely than not the deal gets down, or does it often go tits up.

Radio City reckon the deal is far from making us better off finacially and it will take ages for it to go through.

Basically they're saying it's not as good as you think.

Radio City is a load of shite, they'll take anything from anywhere and just blurt it out on there. Their transfer stories in the windows are worse than tribalfootball.

Xabi joy at Dubai deal Dec 6 2006

By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo

XABI ALONSO today urged Liverpool's prospective new owners to ensure the traditions of the club remain intact when their takeover is complete.

Alonso says the players are excited by the possible investment by Dubai International Capital, but was equally cautious about the implications for the identity of Liverpool.

"We'll have to wait until it's all done, but it seems to be really close now," said Alonso. "We'll see what route the club takes, but if they decide this is the best idea we must all be happy and look to the future with optimism.

"Since I've been in Liverpool, one of the things I've noticed most is how much the club and people respect and realise the importance of their traditions.

"Of course, we all want to develop and improve the club, but it's also important to respect the traditions. I'm sure that's how the supporters feel, and it's the same for the players.

"It's not always easy to get the right balance because in football you must sometimes change, but if you do things step by step and in the right way, it's even better.

"Some of the players here have been in Liverpool for a long time, and they understand what Liverpool means to the people, the city and the whole area.

The new players also understand that commitment, and I'm sure that anyone who comes to Liverpool will see this.

"It's clear investment will bring a lot of good things to Liverpool, but I'm sure the new people will also recognise the good things at the club which we already have which don't need to change so much."

I can't emphasise how abysmal Radio City is about football news. It's poor. I know that it's not going to happen instantaneously but the extra money we get from the increased capacity will be tangible and it will have a noticeable difference. Compare the predicament of Man Utd, who have massive loan repayments to make, the same with Arsenal too, hopefully, we won't have that problem. I've never thought for a minute that this would instantly lead to us being massive spenders but it will change our position in the transfer market. I will put myself out on a limb by saying that either Radio City have spoken to Tom Cannon or they've been watching SSN where Tom Cannon has been spouting this.

Agreed. It's as if they broadcast what they've read on the web that morning.

It wasn't a story, they said it to bring peoples levels down to reality and the fact that this deal wont make us a finacial superpower like some sections of fans seem to think.
