I got mine from glasses direct. They can send you 3 or 4 pairs for you to check out the style you want. You send them back input your prescription and they get them to you pretty quickly. Can’t remember exact length of time but was ok for me.  A lot cheaper too.

I recently got told I need a second pair for occasional reading, and I used these

https://specscart.co.uk

I’ve got a nice pair I’ve had a few years which are still good for driving when tired and TV, so didn’t want to spend too much for a pair I’ll use for screens. As I work from home a lot anyway I wasn’t too fussed with a designer frame, so I can’t complain for about £30 and 4/5 day turn around, came with a decent case, cloth and lens cleaner too.

I’ve used these a number of times.

just need to upload information from your prescription. Also take measurements from your existing frame (there’s a set of 3 numbers on the arm usually) and you can find frames of a similar size.

I’ve ordered extra for leaving in various rooms around the house and also a cheap prescription pair of sunglasses for holiday.

Another vote for Glassesdirect.

Do a Google search for discount codes too - they often have good money off deals going, anything from 30-50%. Pretty sure they usually do a first time buyer’s deal of 50% off and a free second pair too. Usually costs me £49 total for 2 pairs of glasses they would usually sell for 100 notes each.

I have long been just getting my script from Specsavers, turning down any suggestion of frames with them and going straight to GD, because Specsavers will charge double the amount for one pair of shitter looking glasses than glasses direct will charge for two better ones.

I could do with new glasses but mine are varifocals which can be a real pain in the arse getting set up right.

Anyone used Glasses Direct for these?

Mine are varifocals and I’ve been ok with them from there. I took a chance because the same quality of lenses would have been unaffordable otherwise.

Ta mate, I'll look into them.

My last glasses were from Specsavers and I was backwards and forwards with them because they weren't right.

They sorted them eventually and have been fine since but my eyes feel like they're being pulled out of their sockets with my 2nd pair.

I can't wear them even though they're the exact same glasses with the exact same prescription and can't be arsed with the same palava again

I've used

https://www.zennioptical.com/

for years. Full range of tints available and clip on sunglasses cut to size. Prices start at $6.95 US. You can upload a passport type photo and (using your papillary distance) they superimpose the frame on it.

I first used them to buy varifocals. $175 Aus each lens at the time and I couldn't hack bifocals - everything you try to look at is on the fucking line. Varifocals $30 US a pair.

Takes a couple of weeks but the quality has always been oustanding. I've got computer glasses, TV glasses, various tinted glasses.

If they are just readers get the off the shelf ones in most places for £2. Check the magnification level on the prescription. Ive got about 20 pairs all over my place.

This can ruin your eyes. It's made my missus eyesight awful. This is not necessarily a bad thing though
