Harvey Davies made his senior debut for Crewe in a 2-2 draw against Mansfield at Gresty Road on Saturday.

The home side came from 2 goals down to take a point in their opening day fixture, aided in part by the Stags being reduced to 10 men 15 minutes into the second half

FlashScore gave Harvey a 7.9 rating out of 10, having made 7 saves in the game.

Adam Lewis made a return to Newport County for his second loan spell at the club.

Not a great start to Newport's season as they were beaten 3-0 away at Accrington Stanley, with the home side scoring twice late in the game to seal the 3 points on opening day.

FlashScore gave Lewis a rating of 6.3 on his return to The Exiles.

Calvin Ramsay and Rhys Williams didn't make the matchday squads for Preston and Aberdeen respectively - Calvin is building up his match fitness and Rhys currently has a slight back injury but should return to training in the next week or so.

James Balagizi made the bench for Wigan in their 2-1 away win at Derby, but ended the game as an unused substitute.

Dominic Corness has made 2 appearances from the bench for Yverdon in the first 3 gameweeks of this season's Swiss Super League.

Dom played 24 minutes in the 2-0 defeat at FC Zurich in gameweek 1. He was then an unused sub in gameweek 2 in the 2-2 home draw against Young Boys. This past gameweek seen Dom come off the bench for the last 20 minutes in a 2-1 away win at FC Lausanne.

FlashScore rating vs. FC Zurich - 6.3

FlashScore rating vs. FC Lausanne - 6.3

Harvey Davies played a big part in Crewe knocking out Sunderland at The Stadium of Light this evening, as the visitors secured a 5-3 pelanty shootout victory following a 1-1 draw at the end of the 90 (+10 minutes stoppage time).

According to FlashScore, Harvey made 6 saves during the regulation time, including a big save deep into the 10+ minutes of stoppage time at the end of the game.

Harvey then saved the home side's third pelanty of the shootout to help the visitors pull off a shock result against their hosts from the Championship.

Elsewhere, Adam Lewis came off the bench in the 57th minute to help Newport turnaround a 1 goal deficit against Charlton. The Exiles went on to score 3 goals following Adam's introduction to book their place in the second round.

James Balagizi was replaced in the 58th minute at the Racecourse Ground as Wrexham secured a 4-2 shootout win following a goalless 90 minutes. Wigan had a lot of the ball but did little with it - Bala made a few good ball recoveries, but otherwise had a quiet game.

Is there something going on with Ramsay? Rumour that he's got rid of his twitter account. From the bits I've seen he looks a real talent. Never sure what injury it is with him?

His Twitter account is still active - Not that this means much.

Had a look at a Preston forum yesterday and there's a little concern that Calvin has picked up another injury and while be out for a little while longer, although, this information has not been confirmed by anyone and certainly not by Preston themselves.

When Ryan Lowe was asked about Calvin, his response was as follows:

This reply seems to started the injury rumours that are spreading across the PNE forum. I also seen posters mention that Ramsay was suffering from homesickness, but I'd not read anything into that.

For theAXA treatment room ?

It's where a number of posters on the PNE forum believe he's been for the past week.

Preston are at home on Saturday, so will hopefully get a better idea of what the issue may be.

Harvey Davies - Full 90 in 2-2 draw at Swindon. Made 3 saves and was booked in stoppage time for time wasting. FlashScore rating - 6.7.

Jakub Ojrzynski - Unused sub for Den Bosch in 1-0 home win against Oss.

Adam Lewis - Full 90, a booking and a clean sheet for Adam as Newport cruised to a 4-0 home victory over Doncaster. FlashScore rating - 7.5.

Anderson Arroyo - Full 90 and a clean sheet for Anderson as FC Andorra got their campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 victory at Leganes. FlashScore rating - 7.3.

Calvin Ramsay - Not in the matchday squad for Preston's 2-1 home win against Sunderland. Has apparently suffered an undisclosed injury setback.

Quote

Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe says on loan Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsay has had an injury setback.

The Scottish right back joined up with North End in mid-July and featured in the final few pre-season friendlies.

His arrival at Preston was delayed due to him finishing rehabilitation with his parent club, after a knee injury last season.
Ramsay - an important signing down the right flank - was in line for minutes against Salford City on Tuesday night.

However, the day before the Carabao Cup clash Lowe said that Ramsay would in fact play no part.

The full extent of Ramsay's blow remains undisclosed but, having not commented on the defender in midweek, Lowe confirmed the news in Thursday's pre-match press conference.

"Yeah, a little setback," said Lowe. "That's why he hasn't been in the squad. I've just been told about some rumours of him going back to Liverpool and stuff - that is a load of nonsense.

I don't know where you get it from or who says it, but Calvin has got a 12 month loan agreement with us. He's had a little setback and we'll make sure we get him fit and ready for when he's available.

I know what has happened but I am not going to tell you. When there is news to tell you we will tell you, but for now he's just had a setback and he is doing what he needs to do."

Owen Beck - Full 90 and a late yellow card for Owen in Dundee's 2-1 defeat in Paisley against St. Mirren. FlashScore rating - 6.7.

Rhys Williams - Not in the matchday squad for Aberdeen's 3-1 home defeat to Celtic. He continues his recovery from a back injury.

Sepp van den Berg - Came off the bench in the 80th minute as Mainz held on for a 1-0 away win against Elversberg who were reduced to 10 late in the DFB Pokal first round tie. Sepp picked up a booking deep into stoppage time. FlashScore rating - 6.1.

Dominic Corness - Unused sub as Yverden were hammered 6-1 away at Lugano.

James Balagizi - Unused sub in Wigan's 2-1 home win over Northampton.

Fabio Carvalho - Came off the bench to replace hattrick hero Dani Olmo in the 78th minute of Leipzig's 3-0 victory over Bayern in the German Super Cup. FlashScore rating - 6.5

Liverpool loanee Sepp van den Berg has won the most aerial duels in the Bundesliga this season (44) and the third most in Europe’s Top 5 leagues.

I wonder if he might be an option for us next season? He will count as a home grown player too.

I just found out that his younger brother is at Boro.
