I think the title is pretty self explanatory. Here’s a starter

Country house by Blur ; “He's reading Balzac, knocking back Prozac”

That couplet has always annoyed me; straight out of a smart-arse's rhyming dictionary.

Cemetery Gates by The Smiths:  Kents and Yeats are on your side, while Wilde is on mine

Good spot. I’ve been trying to think of a Smiths one.

The opening line to How soon is now “ I am the son and heir to nothing in particular” is from Middlemarch by George Elliot but it’s not a reference just a bit of Morrissey plagiarism from a Victorian novel.

What about something like Springsteen's The Ghost of Tom Joad or Everybody's Happy Nowadays by Buzzcocks, which are inspired by books (The Grapes of Wrath & Brave New World, respectively) but don't mention them by name?
