A knock off football top for 70 quid?

Great stuff.

There has always been replica shirts, though. The badges on the 80s/early 90s replicas were felt embossed, rather than embroidered, like the ones the players wore. An adult shirt in, say, 1992 was about £30, which can’t be far off £70 in today’s money.

True. It was a rip off then as well.

They’re grossly overpriced, but I reckon kids get their money’s worth, as they live in the things.

I loved the New Balance training gear over their shirts and was able to get stuff cheap enough at times, i dont see that being the case now.

Completely unrelated, but this is the new Real Madrid shirt.

Is there a reason they don’t play in purple trims anymore? I loved those old white and purple (or vice versa) shirts.

Sign up to Nike and put your bday down as August. You’ll get 25% off the new shirt and training kit.

Is that discount just off LFC gear or will work for runners?

I’ve always quite liked Nike Windrunner jackets but never owned one. Young man’s game, really. The Liverpool one is easily the best thing in the new Nike range, though red and black is more Manchester United than Liverpool.

Gold embroidered liver bird looks lovely, don't like the stuck on one like the new shirt.

They have took the piss making the two kits look completely different. Yes NB has the two different kits but the design was identical. Now people will be paying £70 for a top that isnt even the same design as the players wear.

This is outrageous in my opinion.

    • It's just panic setting in that it undermines the fsg sell to buy model. The only people arsed about a sell on clause are those dreaming of one day selling him on and moneyballing it in the next transfer window. Everybody slightly normal would be thinking  1. He's a bargain 2. We want him to play his career here. So we don't need to care about sell on clauses.  3. If he wants to go to some mega rich club somewhere down the line, it means we've had a wonder talent on our hands and enjoyed his success for a initial tiny fee.  4. If he doesn't go on to hit the heights we all hope, it's still a tiny fee and we'll clearly still make a profit. It reduces the risk of the transfer should some of the fee today be linked to future sell on.  5. It's only right the club that develops him gets a reasonable fee for developing a talent that we thought was good enough to play in our 1st team squad at 16!    Bottom line, surely all anyone wants is him to be fucking brilliant and spend his career here? Who's arsed about a sell on?
    • They literally make it up as they go along. That offside was really tight yet they looked at it for all of 30 seconds yet Firmino’s last week was checked for about 3 minutes till they got the line right so they could disallow it
    • Ok I really don't understand offside now, why were they checking that cash fella for firminos goal to see if he touched it to make Jota onside and just now checking the Fulham penalty to see if the Fulham player was offside despite it going straight to a defender?
    • Indeed. I’ve never quite understood the notion that FFP - as a concept - is a terrible thing because, supposedly, it stops clubs from joining the top table.
It smacks of people thinking that one day their club will get bought by an oil state and therefore be able to spend as much as they want, which is ridiculous on two levels - one, your goal is to be given the opportunity to cheat to win and two, your club is almost certainly not going to be bought by a sheik or oligarch! It’s football’s version of the US Republican voter whose existence is predicated on the notion that they’re a millionaire in waiting.
