Man City - the new bitters?

The Guardian says it’s only up until the 2017/18 season.

That’s when the alleged breaches occurred, anyway. I wonder, if points deductions were applied, if there’s a way that they can be tapered and City still punished in years when no alleged breach has occurred? Any advantage they’ve accrued from breaching the regulations surely extends beyond the period of the wrongdoing and is ongoing. They’re breaking even now, but wouldn’t have been able to get to that point, nor build the squad that potentially unfairly denied us titles in the past few years if it hadn’t have been for earlier misconduct.

I’d give them a tapered points deduction. Hit them hard for the years with breaches of the regulations. Then, in the following years, I don’t know, maybe 2 or 3 points deducted would be a fair punishment?…

And, they should get points deductions going forward for the next 5 or 10 seasons too.

Cheating fuckers. It’s mad that there’ll still be dickheads harping on that it should just be our Premier League title with an asterisk next to it….

In 2018/19 cunts (from all sorts of shithouse clubs) on Twitter were farting on about how football needed to be "saved" from a Liverpool title win, despite the obvious fact that we were doing it clean.

There should be another investigation covering post 2017/18…… everyone knows their recent ‘sponsorships’ are a joke.

I don’t want any past titles.

 I do.

I say that. But, rather, I mean that I want a suitable punishment to be dished out if long-term, systematic cheating is made out. And, if that punishment results in us (and even United) being awarded titles retrospectively, then so be it.

Why should City be allowed to benefit if it’s shown that they’ve gained an unfair advantage by cheating when others have followed the rules?

Read on the BBC that any hearings will be done in private, to an Independent commission.

Not expecting anything to come of this whatsoever.

The PL will say they’ve done an exhaustive exploration and are perfectly happy with the findings of the commission.

City will challenge every word, if any are derogatory, and will tie up the processes legally for years, costing millions, until a settlement is reached that suits them.

Exactly an athlete taking steroids may come off after a few years but he's only got there by cheating

Yes, if you fiddle the books to buy assests that last for 5-6 years, there’s no point saying they played fair a year later.
I was buzzing when I read this news but typical TLW cynics have me back down to earth now ( you’re probably right of course)
