This is so painful. There are no more negotiations to be had with the EU. It's so fucking obvious except for in parliament. The option now is no deal or stay. The sooner this is accepted by everyone concerned the better.

No, a lengthy extension is likely which brings a second vote firmly into focus.

Can't see how this can be ended without either a second referendum or a GE.

Even in those cases, it might not get resolved. A hung parliament, or a close referendum (even if one gets through), and we'd be back in the same situation. Fucking Cameron, fucking Tories.

OK, so, this charade will go on for two more weeks, and then they will accept May's deal?

Tomorrow, they will vote that there will be no no-deal Brexit, then to ask for extension of Article 50 which will be refused by the EU.

Then May will go to Brussels again for a couple more sentences to present in the parliament, which will be faced with a choice of her deal or imminent no deal (which they by that time would have removed as a possibility). At that time, about a 100 MPs will come to the conclusion that this was actually a pretty good lipstick and that you can hardly see the pig anymore and vote for the deal, DUP and some others will abstain and May's deal will be ratified.

According to Oakeshott on Sky News one opinion poll gives the Tories a 10 point lead over Labour. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that's a YouGov poll.

I think it was a TNS poll. Tories have been pretty static at about 40% for a while, and Labour have dropped a fair bit recently due to the Tinge Group.

I don't understand why the Tinge Group are even included in these polls. How many of them is there? 11?

That's not strictly true.

There are no negotiations to be had (as there haven't been for months) around May's "red lines".  The EU would be willing to negotiate around Labour's proposals (although couldn't begin to guess whether they'd have any more chance of reaching a deal that's acceptable to Parliament).

It's like when they include UKIP in the "Westminster voting intentions" polls; as long as we have FPTP support for those fringe groups just won't translate to any seats.

I think if Labour were to offer a binary referendum - leaving with their version of a deal or remain - then I think that might get them a slight majority in a GE.

They're definitely making more noises along those lines (even before the rubbish* took itself out a few weeks ago).

*Edited to acknowledge Rico's point that one of them - can't recall who; never heard of the cunt - might be a decent constituency MP.
