Been anounced tonight that Parma cannot complete the rest of their fixyures in Serie A including today's game against Udinese as they only have 40,000 euros in the bank. Players havent been paid virtually since the start of the season. Italian league state all Parma's results will be converted to 3-0 defeats. Parma will also be relegated to Serie B at best. If they reform, they may have to start off in the Italian Pro Liga (Conference equivalent?)

You lot are all jumping the gun a bit here. It has NOT yet been decided to write off all of Parma's results for this season so their relegation has NOT been confirmed. Their next match against Udinese has been postponed because Parma cannot guarantee the safety of fans, staff and players because they don't have enough money to cover stewarding and policing etc.

Of course, if financial guarantees are not forthcoming from the owners in the very near future then things will turn very bad for Parma. They still owe the tax authorities from last season which is why they were excluded from the Europa League despite qualifying, and they've not paid their players or staff since last summer. Desperate situation no doubt but it's another case of an owner without a pot to piss in buying a club and then surprising nobody by failing to meet financial guarantees.

Parma had some excellent teams and players in the 90s in particular but they never did anything to improve their infrastructure so apart from notable success on the pitch, they never could capitalise on it despite sizeable investment in players. They were signing players like Nakata and Amoroso for £20m at a time when we hadn't yet broken the £10m barrier for Heskey. How times have changed.

That's not what BT Sport reported during the postponed Samp v Genoa game.

Parma have said they have informed Serie A they cannot complete their fixtures. They  considered playing the Udinese game behind closed doors but opted not to as they cant make any payment to players or pay the leccie bill.

To all intents and purposes they are insolvent and bankrupt (sadly).

I guess it'll all become clearer in the next few days but take it from me, they have gone tits up.

The once-proud Italian club were forced to postpone this weekend's game as they couldn't afford stewards

Dissolved: Parma head coach Roberto Donadoni has seen his team slump to 20th in Serie A

Reports coming out of Italy suggest that Parma have been dissolved, just a day after the cash-starved club was forced to postpone its Serie A game with Udinese while an 11th-hour attempt to save the club was underway.

The club have reportedly racked up a debt of €197 million and were forced to call off Sunday's game because they couldn't afford to pay stewards to attend the match at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Owner Giampietro Manenti hasn't paid players or staff at the club, currently sitting rock bottom of the table with just 10 points, for the majority of the season.

But now that cash reserves have finally run out, the Italian Football Federation has been forced to dissolve the club and automatically relegate them.

According to Parma youth team coach Hernan Crespo, the situation has gotten so bad at the once proud club that they can't even afford bottles of water during training sessions.

While no official confirmation has yet been given, it is understood that all of Parma's remaining games this year will be recorded as 3-0 losses

Do they have any players who we could be interested in?

Well that's not very neighbourly of you, Padre. Shouldn't  you be out organising charity car boot and garage sales, and coffee mornings, with all proceeds to the Help Parma Fund?

Do I detect the enticement of the Horned One in the predatory nature of your statement? Beware, Padre, for he pops into your thoughts when you least expect him!

If they're Rock bottom of the league you'd imagine all their better players had left

Yeah, some of them would have smelt this situation cooking a long time ago, well before the owner gave them the people's elbow to cut the millions, and millions, they owed. I guess it doesn't matter what you think now as Parma, in all likelihood, have finally come back to Serie D.
