If I had the time I'd look up what was said on here after that infamous penalty given for us against Sheffield Utd first game of the season some years ago.

He did dive but, like SG, was avoiding an imminent collision. It was a pen for us and it was a pen for Utd. Some similarity with Studge at OT last season as well.

He wasn't avoiding collision.

He was past the sliding keeper when he threw himself down and could, without any problems, have kept running.

It was a dive. Like most fucking incidents are now that involve any kind of challenge.

It could still be given as a pen if the ref sees it as a reckless tackle or an attempt to trip him.

If it had been a Knob End player diving for a pen then we would be pissing ourselves,

As it was Rooney no one wanted to call him a diver and Hodgson did the impossible in looking an even bigger fool than he really is. All said and done the keeper was stupid and rughead did what plenty of others ( our own included on occasions) do week in week out, On reflection I thought the offside decision was worse and that's what turned the game.

Calling Preston "Knob End" makes you come across as a bit of a dick. Personally, I have a lot of respect for a club that clearly meant a great deal to Bill Shankly.

One of best mates is a lifelong Preston supporter and he has always called them Knob End as do lots of other fans . Bit precious of us to think it's dis-respectful . Tony doesn't always know !

My mate has gone on about Shrek all week and the cheating little prick has been exposed by the keeper today, On the BBC site this morning

Preston goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann says Manchester United's Wayne Rooney apologised for the way he won a penalty in Monday's 3-1 FA Cup winat Deepdale.

The striker went down in the box after a challenge from Stuckmann, who appeared to make little or no contact.

"Rooney told me: 'Sorry, it was my chance to get a penalty. I had to use that',"
