I'm moving house, sold STC, and today received a letter from Sky about moving my Sky to the new property. It's not a standard letter, it's aimed at people moving house.

Simple question: How do they know I'm moving?

Before you start I've checked the house for bugs etc....

Because the people you've sold the house to have Sky at their old address and have told Sky that they are moving to your address. They've looked up the address, seen you are an existing customer, and hence know that you must be moving. Simple really.....

Nice try but no, she's a first time buyer and lives with mum and dad. We are over 5 weeks from completion so doubt she'd have phoned to arrange sky. Are girls even allowed to watch Sky?

How long would you give it before ringing Sky when you're about to move to a new place? 5 weeks seems reasonable to me.
