  1. Hi, could you PM me a link please. Can't find anything today. Cheers
  2. 100% in agreement. I can't believe how many knobheads who say they support LFC have rung radio phone-ins to say he's a disgrace, should never play for us again etc. Obviously these people don't think about the words of YNWA when they sing them, that's if they ever go to Anfield. Luis needs our help and support at this time. He's obviously got issues and needs help, not shipping out to some other club.
  3. Because the people you've sold the house to have Sky at their old address and have told Sky that they are moving to your address. They've looked up the address, seen you are an existing customer, and hence know that you must be moving. Simple really.....
  4. Zonal marking? For me that was a success - look at how many clean sheets we had. It was just the media that took against it and used it as a weapon to beat Rafa with.
  5. I only post on days when we change managers  As has been said 2005-2007 was a golden period for Liverpool fans everywhere and that was down to Rafa. The thing I liked most about Rafa was that first of all he made us hard to beat. You got the impression that he spent a lot of time planning for each game and set the side up to win that particular game. The times he picked sides for away matches in Europe with Pongolle up front and you wondered if he was mad but time and again he got it right. As a season ticket holder my priority is going home with 3 points. Playing attractive football is the icing on the top of the cake.
  6. Anyone who has ever done a job where your bosses are looking to replace you (in this case the owners chasing Jurgen Klinsmann) will know how hard it can be. Rafa had lost their backing and it made his job impossible. At this point a lot of the funding dried up and we ended up with substandard players. I'd have Rafa back in a shot (not that anyone cares for my opinion).
  7. The owners aren't going to throw money at transfers until there is a clear strategy for how we're going to play. Signing players because they are a. available for the right money and b. english and then trying to find a way of playing them just hasn't worked this season. First we need a plan A that will be used most of the time. When we've got that working properly then we work on plans B&C so we can change things round. Work out how who can play in the formation of plan A and then fill the gaps with transfers. It would be nice to go the match and have some confidence in how we will play.
  8. Of course we've been found out tactically. We concede an early goal to both Fulham and Chelsea and we had no clue how to create chances against teams who aren't interested attacking for a second goal. Plus the amount we chop and change in the course of one game without any improvement suggests we don't know what to do. Regarding Downing's mental frailty either he was already frail before he joined in which case why did Kenny ask Comolli to sign him or he's become frail since joining us which again must be blamed on the manager/coaches.
  9. In terms of if we'd had more luck we'd be higher up the table this presumes that we're the only team who has been unlucky. Which just can't be true. Ferguson can send his teams out to play their own style regardless of the opposition because 1. they are confident that they will succeed 2. the players are better than most teams 3. the opposition are scared of them. Liverpool at the moment don't have any of these things in their favour. At times like these you go the Rafa route of sending your team to nullify the opposition first. This is how we won the CL in 2005. On paper we had no right to win the trophy with a team containing players like Traore but we did and that was down to Rafa's planning and implementation. This season I don't think we've worked out how we want to play in any game. Players switch positions 2 or 3 times in every game. At one point against Fulham Downing was playing behind Carroll. That's just plain stupid. To get the best out of Carroll and Downing they need to play together as much as possible. Downing's style doesn't suit playing with Suarez as a lone striker, but how often have Downing and Carroll passed each other on the touchline when subs are made? Also Carroll needs crosses coming from the touchline, not from players cutting back onto their preferred foot. So Downing should be on the left in every game. Give him an extended run with Carroll and if it doesn't work then bin off one or both. This means Gerrard playing centre midfield but this is fine. Alongside Lucas that's not a problem at all. The question I always ask after a poor game is what's going to change to make the next game be any different? The stock answer of 'we'll work harder on the training pitch' just doesn't cut it for me. It makes me wonder what Steve Clarke and co are doing as we never seem to improve. Kenny looks tired to me. He needs to take a few weeks away from the club to gather his thoughts and decide if he's got the appetite to get us back to where we belong. If he has then that's great, if he hasn't then he goes with our thanks for saving us from Hodgson and a cup in the trophy room.
  10. I saw them a few years ago in Bolton and they were ok but went down to that there London to see them at the Roundhouse last November and they were brilliant. Shame I couldn't see them in Warrington last night.
  11. I assume this is the same Western Promise who seemed to be the support band every time I went to a gig at the Royal Court in the mid '80s ? I can't believe they are still going.
  12. Snippet from the Daily Post about his death: 'Mr Wilson became renowned in Liverpool when he bought New Order to the city in 1986 to play at a gig called “From Manchester With Love”. Proceeds from the event went to support surcharged Militant councillors.' He was annoying but not only did he bring New Order but also The Fall, John Cooper Clarke, and The Smiths for that gig. One of the best line-ups I've seen, and definitely the best in Liverpool. He might have liked winding us up but he came through when we needed him. For that, respect.
  13. Thanks for finding this out. My girlfriend is a big Neil Gaiman fan so I might just take her.
  14. You might have a point about the rich looking after their own but why not just keep it to yourself and ignore whatever you see/hear about the case. It's not like it's hurting you. But this bit below is just going way too far. You obviously don't have / never have had a 3 year old daughter. You can't assume she has been shipped off to a rich couple in the US who can't have children of their own - and even those types can't be loving or attentive if they would take a kidnapped daughter of someone else. The likelihood is much, much worse. Plus 3 year old kids know who their parents are. So you have a point of sorts but you've ruined it with your extremist ranting.
  15. Is this one at UK cinemas then or did you watched an internet version ? Can't see it on the Odeon listings either for now or in the future.
  16. I've signe dup and you get just one Setanta channel but this will show the 46 premier league matches. You DON'T get the Liverpool club channel but there is a chance that some of the matches that will be shown as a delayed broadcast on the club channel may also be on the one Setanta channel. However I haven't seen that confirmed.
  17. I've booked with Lonsdales but my ST is not in my name. You have to make sure you give your name/address to Lonsdales as well otherwise the flight tickets wont match your passport and hence you wont get on the plane !
  18. Man Ure have 7. Had a bet with a lad in work that current Liverpool players would score more goals than past or present Man Ure players. One more from Milan should see me home.....
  19. Stevie said that our position was largely due to the players. That if players like the one who cant be named played to their potential then we would be challenging the top 3. It's the players who have got to win matches not the manager. This was good because it shows the players, or at least Stevie, still believe in Houllier. If they dont then we'll never have the run of form we need. It is refreshing to hear someone talk sense and not try and blame everything but themselves. He is a true captain.
  20. Sorry I didn't want to get carried away - of course we'll stuff Villa.
  21.         Well i'm laughing my bollocks off. Excellent result and then some sense spoken from Stevie G afterwards. If we have to revert to the tactics that won us the treble in order to secure 4th and maybe even push for 3rd then i'm all for it. Especially if it secures a new contract for Owen. It's the results that are going to count and no-one criticised the manager or the team when we won the treble by playing defensively so if it brings us a run of matches without defeat let's be glad. There will be times for the expansive stuff and times for the backs to the wall stuff but the manager isn't going anywhere this season so lets get behind the team. Of course we'll drop points to Villa..........
  22. Temper, temper. I'm not saying he should go. I'm just putting foward reasons why I think there is no quick fix either way. Lots of people are calling for his head without thinking what the end result would be. I'm definitely not in the 'go now' camp. I'd like him to stay if he could be less stubborn, put his hand up that not every player he has bought is good enough for us, and explain how he sees us improving.
  23. I find this a difficult one to answer. Reasons for him to go: He persists with Heskey, Murphy, Biscan etc when they just aren't up to it. Now he says he wont let Cheyrou go - is this the most stubborn man in football ? He refuses to see that with Owen & Kewell out we must start with Pongolle as Heskey & Smicer aren't going to score often enough. He gives the most stupid excuses in his post-match interviews so much so that he is an embarrassment. Reasons for him to stay: Who is the alternative ? O'neill ? Don't make me laugh - Heskey would have a job for life (unless Martin brought Hartson with him - for fucks sake no). Players like Kewell, Pongolle, LeTallec signed because he was the manager - would they stay ? If we sign Cisse - and his form in France suggests we should - would he join if Houllier left ? I'm sure Owen and maybe even Gerrard wouldn't want to wait for the next manager to take 5 years to build us into credible title contenders. I don't know the answer but I think if he was to write down the names of our players who would get into ManUre / Arsenal / Chelsea's team and then build round these and junk the rest then it would be a start. But who would get into their teams? Kirkland, Hyypia (?), Gerrard, Hamann (?), Owen, Kewell. This shows how far behind we are. I think we're fucked no matter what he does. It is going to be a long road back to the top......
