But still better than anyone else we have atm unless you count a fit Agger which is a bit of a joke

I'm not convinced he is. He was no less error prone than Skrtel at CB after Hodgson left, and he probably loses out by being considerably slower than Martin, who's not exactly a speed merchant himself. We have to drop monumentally deep to accommodate him and that's just not healthy.

Carragher just can't help himself from diving in like that. Given that he's lost what little pace he had, he's going to concede a penalty more often than not.

Get him out of the fucking team. The biggest liability we have at the moment by a long way. He is honestly like a boxer carrying on past his prime and getting exposed time and time ago. You still get flashes of what he was, but the precipice always looms.

I've been criticising Carra heavily over the past few weeks, but thought he was pretty good today, except the mistake in the end. Problem is, when he's faced with attackers that are bigger, stronger and faster than those today, he'll lose out in the duels he won today, and those last ditch challenges will become a little too late. There's also the factor that we drop into our own 16 yard box whenever we face the slightest of pressure.

And.... I think the school of thought that Skrtel is the most likely of our defenders to give away needless freekicks and pens might be up for debate...
